Lose Weight on “Holidays”–Superbowl Sunday
Congratulations Saints!!! Superbowl Champs 2010!!!
For some of us “Super Bowl Sunday” is a holiday with all the friends, family, drinks, snacks and good food. It seems that every month there is some day like yesterday where we have to have a big meal and lots and lots of munchies.  Days like this are sooooo hard for people who are trying to lose weight.
Did you know that by eating 2 handfuls of chips (which is really easy to do) you would have to run 45 football fields to work off the calories you just ate?  Yikes! And by eating one, just one chip dipped in a 7-layer dip results in 9 1/2 minutes of stadium stairs to work off those calories. So when attending one of these parties be careful what you are eating. If you try and avoid these parties because of the food you will never learn how to handle yourself in these situations. Avoiding snacks all together may inhibit your weight loss because you may eat more calories just trying to avoid what it is you are craving. Don’t go crazy. And don’t be scared to attend–just know your limits and find the foods that are low in fat. Eat something before you go so that you aren’t as hungry and so you have more control over what you are eating.
P.S. If you are the host of the party, make sure you send some of the leftovers home with the guests or you will be the one munching on all the goodies with no one around to see you and hold you accountable. You will have a harder time losing weight having half eaten bags of chips and candy at your house–it is way too tempting.
