Biggest Loser Family Cookbook: Budget-Friendly Meals Your Whole Family Will Love

Anyone keep up with the Biggest Loser?  I love sitting in front of the tv and watching these overweight people accomplish their dreams of losing weight and creating a lifestyle that makes them happier and healthier.  I also love watching the trainers and their passion towards weight loss and health and helping these people reach their goals.  I especially love the “Trainer Tips” that are shared shortly before or after a commercial break.  So if you missed last night’s episode, here is the advice that was given to help all of us no matter how much weight we need to lose:

“Trainer Tip” #1

Okay, this one wasn’t an official Trainer Tip but it did come from Bob and it is a tip so it kinda counts.  Chew sugarfree Extra gum.  Put it in your kitchen so when you get the urge to eat something you can pop a stick of gum in your mouth and help curb the craving.  You can get the sugarfree gum in a variety of flavors so if it is mint you like, they have a gum for that, or if you are needing something fruity, they have a gum for that as well.  I keep gum in my kitchen cupboard and I chew a piece every now and then when I feel like I need something in my mouth.  This is a tip we have heard of over and over but that means it must be important, right?

“Trainer Tip” #2

Jillian posed the question that “Snacking inhibits weight loss, true or false”  The answer is TRUE.  Surprise.  Just when we thought we had it all figured out that we eat 5-6 small meals a day to boost our metabolism.  Now we are told to go old school and eat the traditional 3 meals a day with only one snack.  It is easier to keep track of how many calories we are eating so that we don’t go overboard.  When you allow yourself to eat 5-6 meals a day it is a lot easier to justify those snacks as a small meal and we consume too many calories.

Check out the Biggest Loser Family Cookbook: Budget-Friendly Meals Your Whole Family Will Love (pictured above) and learn some great recipes for the whole family and learn ways to incorporate those 3 meals into any schedule or budget.
