Hydrate to Lose Weight

Everyone can afford to drink water…tap water. This is such an inexpensive way to lose weight and losing weight requires the intake of lots of water. The body uses fluids to flush out the system and keep itself hydrated allowing you to be active. Water is also great for an appetite suppressant. If you drink lots of water throughout the day then you are helping yourself eliminate unnecessary snacking and overeating. It’s understandable that drinking water can get a little boring after awhile. Flavor it up! There are powder drink packs you can buy that are relatively cheap, but that can do so much when it comes to adding a little bit of low-calorie flavor.

Here are some ideas to help you drink more water…and forget the 8-8oz. glasses of water a day, that should be your starting point. Here’s some tips:

  • Take water with you. The times we drink soda or other sugary drinks are in the car or at work or out to eat, but if you take water with you you’ll be less likely to drink the others.
  • Drink water before each meal. This will fill you stomach so that you won’t eat as much.
  • Leave your water out where you will see or pass by it often. Doing this will help you drink it more often.
  • Drink from a bottle that has measurements on it, that way you can see exactly how much you are drinking each day. Or reuse a bottle from Gatorade or Powerade these tell you the ounces as well. There are also bottles such as the Hydracoach Intelligent Water Bottle (pictured above) that calculates how much water YOU need each day and then it keeps track of how much you drink out of it.

Try these out. I promise that by drinking more water your body will feel better and look better in no time.
